Goldfishes in Lotus Basin

My daughter played a game ‘Goldfish Scooping‘. This game is called Kingyou Sukui in Japanese. You have to catch a goldfish with a paper net that breaks all too easily. You need patience to succeed. For someone like my daughter who has no patience, guess how many goldfish did she catch?

She catched 12 goldfishes so she can choose 2 healthy goldfishes as her prize. She did hope the goldfishes were gonna last that long in a plastic bag till she went back home. Fortunately, they did. They live happily in my lotus basin.

I bought more goldfishes to be their friends. They seem very happy.

Cloudy Sunday

First Floor

It is winter season but it’s never been so cold in Thailand. It’s only cooling. Today the weather is partly cloudy skies. High 83F.

Thailand lies just south of the Tropic of Cancer, within the tropical monsoon zone of Southeast Asia, and enjoys a warm mild climate throughout the year.

Roughly divided, there are three seasons: the cool season (Nov.-Feb.), the hot season (Apr-May), and the rainy season (Jun.-Oct.). Average temperatures are about 29° C, ranging in Bangkok from 35° C in April to 17° C in December. The northern region can be a bit cooler during the cool season, so visitors are advised to pack a sweater or light jacket at this time. Closer to the equator, the southern peninsula of Thailand has little seasonal variation in climate with rain almost everyday.

The best time to travel to Thailand is when the weather is cooler during mid-October to early March. It’s OK to visit off-season too as the temperature is generally moderate throughout this period and there are always lots of festivals and activities all-year-round.

Safe at Vichian Building Apartment

Singha

A series of bomb blasts in Bangkok is a tragedy for starting new year. I am really sorry for wounded and dead people. I believe it’s not related to Thailand’s southern provinces’ problem. Anyway we are safe here at Vichian Building Apartment because we are not living in the central of Bangkok.Though Bangkok Metropolitan Administration plans to spend 186 million baht on installing close-circuit televisions throughout the capital this year, a security follow-up to the New Year’s Eve bombings.

Some 1,628 closed circuit TV cameras will be operating by the end of the year, said Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin.

Mr Apirak said the installation would be implemented in two phases — 504 cameras at flyovers and not-so-crowded locations, and 1,124 others at more populated places like bus terminals and intersections.

Mr Apirak said the first phase of installation should be completed by June 30.
